Medical Officer (Short Service Commission)
  • Passed Final MBBS (Part I & II) in not more than 2 attempts.
  • Appeared in NEET PG (2024 or 2025).
  • PG degree holders not required to reappear in NEET PG (earlier marks considered).
  • Must possess medical qualification included in National Medical Council Act, 2019.
  • Must have permanent registration from State Medical Council / NMC / MCI.
  • PG Degree holders recognized by State Medical Council / NBE / NMC can also apply.
  • Internship must be completed on or before 31/07/2025.

  • Apply online at www.join.afms.gov.in by clicking “NEW REGISTRATION”.
  • Upload scanned documents: passport photo (JPEG, ≤100 KB, not older than 6 months), Class X/Birth Certificate (PDF, ≤200 KB, in English), MBBS Part I & II Attempt Certificate, Internship Certificate, NEET PG Score Card, PG Degree Certificate (if any), Aadhaar Card.
  • Carry originals at interview: Class X/Birth Certificate, Aadhaar, Permanent Registration, Internship Certificate, MBBS & PG Certificates, Attempt/Transcript Certificate, NEET PG Score Card, NOC (if employed), NCC Certificate, NBE Certificate & Passport (for Foreign Graduates), Gazette Notification (if name changed), 10 photos, photo ID, address proof, Attestation Form (5 copies, filled & attested).
  • Pay ₹200 Application Fee online (Net Banking / Debit / Credit Card). No other mode accepted.
  • Admit Card available on website one week before interview.

 

Mode Of Examination : Selection on the Basis of Interview.

 

Stages of Selection :

  • Shortlisting Of Candidates For Interview (based on calculated NEET PG marks out of 200 as explained)
  • Viva-Voce / Interview (Board of Officers)
  • Special Medical Examination Board (SMB)
  • Appeal Medical Board (AMB) / Review Medical Board (RMB) as applicable
  • Final Merit List & Issue of Joining Instructions (for medically fit candidates up to number of vacancies)
     

Pay Scale :

  • Rank: Captain (or equivalent in Navy/Air Force)
  • Pay Scale: Level 10B Defence Pay Matrix
  • Basic Pay: ₹61,300 + Other Allowances.

Travel Allowance :

  • First-time interview candidates will be reimbursed AC-III/AC Chair Car rail fare or Govt Non-AC bus fare from place of residence to interview venue.
  • No travel allowance is admissible for candidates residing within municipal limits of interview venue.
